“His Holy Light”

“His Holy Light”

As myriads of stars illumine the nighttime sky
So do Saints in Christ display His Holy Light
Purified and refined by the Truth of His Word
Walking by faith in Him, not by physical sight

Apart from Him, they are like ships lost at sea
He loses none; He brings them safely to shore
He is their Shepherd Who watches over them
He is their God Who loves them forevermore

Psalms 36:9 (NASB) For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

“Before Our Eyes”

“Before Our Eyes”

Beautiful and breathtaking; a Homecoming near
The trump sound announcing that Jesus is here
What joy will capture us in the air as we rise
Precious faith is made reality before our eyes

We’ll be changed; transformed from inside out
No longer plagued by sin; nor fear and doubt
Those dead in Christ will precede our ascent
Joined to bodies glorified from fragile tents

Death expunged, victory; hello, not goodbye
Mind of Christ, clarity; no more asking why
That once obscured; will appear clear to view
Lives once shattered; will forever be as new

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV)
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

“Where Will Your Destination Be?”

Just as it was in the days of Noah
Is exactly how the world is today
God’s name is being blasphemed
As each person goes their own way

Jesus gave His life a ransom for sin
He came to save that which was lost
God’s mercy and grace to fallen man
God’s Son sacrificed upon the Cross

His salvation is a gift offered to all
For those who are willing to receive
A miracle is wrought within the heart
Faith given to understand and believe

Don’t leave this earth without the Savior
Regret will be your keepsake for eternity
You’ll live forever; either in Heaven or Hell
Question is, where will your destination be?

John 3:16-18 (NASB)
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

“Peace and Rest”

“Peace and Rest”

God knows what’s in my heart and mind
It’s Him in prayer daily I’ll seek and find
From the minute I wake, until day’s end
He’s gracious to me; My Faithful Friend

Those times when fear and faith collide
He’s my Deliverer, and in Him I’ll abide
If I rely on myself, I’ll stumble and fall
If I’m trusting in Him, He’ll handle it all

He’ll never leave me; of this I’m aware
I’m kept in His loving and tender care
My fears melt away, for He’s all I need
In Him, I’ve true peace and rest indeed

Psalm 18:2 (NASB) The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NASB) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

“Foretaste of Glory”

Watching and waiting; poised and ready
Many storms arise; God holds us steady
Mortal ills; confusion and chaos abound
He is our Delight; in Him our joy is found

Truth anchors us; a beaming beacon of light
Our hope for the day; our peace in the night
When we praise Him, our faith is expressed
Fears are quieted as the heart enters His rest

In study of His Word, the Spirit gives insight
Wisdom for living and for doing what is right
Fellowship is ours with the Father and His Son
Foretaste of glory; glimpse of eternity to come

1 John 1:1-4 (NASB)
1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life—
2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—
3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.

“Joy That Will Not Fade”

“Joy That Will Not Fade”

The nearer God’s Children draw to Him
The more they will grow to hate their sin
His Pure Holiness; of this they are aware
His mercy toward them; His loving care
Through refining fire, their faith He tests
They are strongest when in He they rest
In light of His grace, their troubles dim
There is peace; a quiet assurance within
He is their Lord; He comes to their aid
He is their Hope; Joy that will not fade

Psalms 32:11 (NASB)
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

“An Eye To The Sky”

“An Eye To The Sky”

A moment of trial; then the joy and glory of eternity
A darkened mirror; then the dawning of a new reality
Awfulness of sin; then its ugliness banished from sight
A decaying, mortal coil; perfected in incorruptible light

An earthly mind ; then a clear mind without limitation
A faith hoped for; then with Jesus, Author of Salvation
A weak, frail vessel; then no physical impediments at all
An eye to the sky; then Heaven-bound at trumpet’s call

I Peter 5:10 (NASB) After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

“Best Friend”

“Best Friend”

Amidst the waves; the thundering tide
I know that my Savior stays by my side
When chaos and confusion fill the air
I will not be struck down by despair

I will walk by faith alone, not by sight
In His power; the strength of His might
He sought me out; He called my name
He forgave me; He paid for my shame

Each day I spend with my Best Friend
My relationship with Jesus has no end
When I finally meet Him face to face
Thankful tears will flow for His grace

He was with me when I needed Him
He released me from my prison of sin
And in that moment, He revealed to me
I was His forever, and always would be

Psalm 100:5 (NASB)
For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

“Forever In My Heart”

“Forever In My Heart”

Neither the sum of my thoughts, nor all the words that I write
Can capture what will seize my heart when faith is made sight
The Gospel of Christ compels me; I am brought closer to Him
A sanctifying, holy fire; a kindled flame burns brightly within

Empowered through His Truth; driven to my knees in prayer
He alone is worthy; I am not; He keeps me in His divine care
He and I; Jesus and me; for this day, for eternity; never apart
Not I, but He; not my life, but His; first, forever in my heart

Psalms 116:1-2 (NASB)
1 I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications.
2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.

“Repent”

“Repent”

In His Word, God calls upon all people to repent
His love He did demonstrate in His Son He sent
Punishment for sin was poured out upon Christ
Redemption was provided through His sacrifice

Mercy and grace, a faith made active in the heart
Spiritual renewal, forgiveness; new life, fresh start
The righteous road traveled; the narrow path begun
Hand in hand with Jesus; an eternity with God’s Son

John 3:16-17 (NASB)
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

I Peter 3:18 (NASB)
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit

Romans 5:8 (NASB)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

“Passages” (re-post)

“Passages”

Times and seasons; the passages of life
Dreams, expectations; a forward glance
Troubles, trials; God’s Providential Hand
Faith forged in the fires of circumstance

Grace, goodness; the privilege of prayer
His Tender Mercies, His Amazing Love
Lavished upon His Children, one and all
Blessings in Jesus sent down from above

Psalms 103:2-5 (NASB)
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;

3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;

4 Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

5 Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

“Night and Day”

“Night and Day”

I’m looking forward to the future
When I’m face to face with Him
When I’ll finally see Jesus as He is
When I’m done with this body of sin

Through eyes of faith, I see His Light
And His Word encourages me along
From start to finish, He upholds me
Helping me to continue to be strong

When I wander off, He pulls me back
He leads me to safety, out of harm’s way
My Shepherd keeps His watch over me
Every minute of my life, night and day

Proverbs 18:28 (NASB) For You light my lamp; The LORD my God illumines my darkness.

Psalms 36:9 (NASB) For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

John 10:27-28 (NASB)
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
