“Friend For Eternity”

“Friend For Eternity”

Somewhere, someone is feeling rejected; tossed aside
Left with an aching emptiness; a hopelessness inside
Somewhere, someone is seeking to numb their sorrow
Desperate, in distress; trying to forget about tomorrow
Right here, Someone is waiting; He is Light and Love
Offering mercy and forgiveness; salvation from above
He is Redemption and Freedom; the Way for the lost
He is Risen; became sin at the Cross; He paid the cost
He is All Powerful; He is, He was, He always will be
He is Jesus; Savior, Lord, and King; Friend for eternity

Psalm 34:18 (NASB)
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

“The Mighty God We Serve”

“The Mighty God We Serve”

God enables us to forgive when we have been wronged
He frees us from the bitterness that tears us up inside
It is a daily process; a conscious and deliberate decision
He strengthens us as we continue in His Word to abide

His forgiveness shown us is more than we can conceive
He demonstrated mercy to us that we did not deserve
He softened our hearts toward Him so we would believe
To bring all praise and glory to the mighty God we serve

Psalms 103:11-12 (NASB)
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

“Wisdom”

“Wisdom”

Things of this world hold little appeal
They don’t ultimately satisfy the soul
All is empty, vain, and meaningless
Unless we believe God is in control

We can squander our time on earth
Move from one diversion to the next
Our happiness doesn’t last for long
We embark on another vacant quest

Life isn’t meant to be lived for self
To pursue every impulse felt within
Until God becomes our deepest desire
Do we realize what fools we’ve been

Cradle to grave, there are seasons
Looking back, may we clearly see
Wisdom is a life aimed at His glory
Purpose and joy in Him, living free

Psalms 90:12 (NASB)
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.

“Passages” (re-post)

“Passages”

Times and seasons; the passages of life
Dreams, expectations; a forward glance
Troubles, trials; God’s Providential Hand
Faith forged in the fires of circumstance

Grace, goodness; the privilege of prayer
His Tender Mercies, His Amazing Love
Lavished upon His Children, one and all
Blessings in Jesus sent down from above

Psalms 103:2-5 (NASB)
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;

3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;

4 Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

5 Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

“This Prayer I Pray”

“This Prayer I Pray”

For you who have suffered loss
For you who are feeling alone
For you Jesus went to the Cross
For you He died to make His own

For you who have wandered away
For you who are in deep distress
For you to Him this prayer I pray
For you to find Him your Fortress

For you who fear the road ahead
For you who fret the days to come
For you He keeps safe in His stead
For you let His will for you be done

Numbers 6:24-26 (NASB)
24 The LORD bless you, and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you,
And give you peace.

“Take Time To Make Time”

“Take Time”

Let’s take time to make time
Amidst our hectic, busy day
To show each other we care
By our actions; what we say
Things we consider so small
A listening ear; a kind word
May mean the world to one
Whose voice is barely heard
To have a friend, be a friend
To that hurting soul in need
We may be surprised to find
Through kindness we show
A victim of loneliness freed

Philippians 2:4 (NASB)
do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Michael English – “Take The Time”

“Walk”

“Walk”

My Christian walk is a stumble
I make mistakes, and I fall
You gently pick me back up
Swiftly, You answer my call

You love me unconditionally
But, this I really must confess
Sometimes I think of You wrongly
And I make my own selfish mess

Many tears flood my eyes
As I read Your Holy Word
Truth pierces the darkness
My heart is warmly stirred

At times, I fail quite miserably
Yet I realize, You love me no less
Your Mercy and Grace cover me
I am clothed in Your righteousness

Though evil thoughts accuse me
Your words of Life fill my mind
Understanding dawns upon me
As perfect peace in You, I find

Psalms 54:4 (NASB)
Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.

“A Marriage”

“A Marriage”

This isn’t about a passing fancy or romantic whim
This isn’t about clever-sounding words or rhyme
It’s about a steady fire kindled within the heart
It’s a flame of love grown stronger with time

It’s about learning the fine art of compromise
It’s about the gentle balance of give-and-take
It’s about truth, honesty, friendship, and trust
It’s about the willingness to forgive a mistake

It’s an unpredictable adventure of discovery
It’s about two personalities blending as one
It’s a marriage, with Christ as its foundation
It’s a husband and wife united in God’s Son

(as an aside, I thought I’d mention that the following song was sung at our wedding back in August of 1987)

“The Power Of Our Lord”

“The Power of Our Lord”

Sometimes, in order to progress in our Christian walk
We must take a look back upon where we have been
To grasp the significance of what God has done for us
By sending His Son to bear the punishment for our sin

Not for one moment should we ever take for granted
The grace, mercy, and lovingkindness He has shown
Nor forget that He has promised never to abandon us
And without Him, we could not make it on our own

His Word instructs us in the ways of His righteousness
It trains and equips us for combat in this spiritual fight
It is a Mighty Sword we wield in the power of our Lord
Exposing the darkness to the pure holiness of His Light

Burdens from our shoulders fall when upon His name we call
Our hearts are strengthened and our vision becomes clear
Eternity takes on new meaning when upon Him we are leaning
We enter into His rest, and His perfect love casts out all fear

Colossians 1:29 (NASB)
For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

Psalms 119:165 (NASB)
Those who love Your law have great peace,
And nothing causes them to stumble.

“How Glorious And Mighty Is He”

“How Glorious And Mighty Is He”

God has a purpose in everything He does
His divine plans are perfect in every way
All things He holds within His sovereignty
Maker of Heaven and Earth, Night and Day

He alone knows the end from the beginning
He Was, He Is, and for Eternity He Will Be
Exalted Lord and King; There Is None Other
How Holy; How Glorious And Mighty Is He

Amos 5:8 (NASB)
He who made the Pleiades and Orion And changes deep darkness into morning, Who also darkens day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the surface of the earth, The LORD is His name.

“Wellspring”

“Wellspring”

God’s Word is an eternal, life-giving wellspring
Fountain of rich grace flowing from His Throne
Forgiven and cleansed by the blood of the Lamb
Forever we are justified; for our sin Jesus atoned

Mercy and lovingkindness our Father has shown
He is always worthy of our praise and adoration
Let us worship our God in the beauty of holiness
Let us sing joyfully to the King of All Creation

Psalms 36:7-9 (NASB)
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

John 7:38 (NASB)
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

“Unshakeable”

“Unshakeable”

Alpha and Omega; forevermore, so shall He be
King of Kings, Jehovah; Lord God for Eternity
Sovereign, Infinite Ruler; Inexhaustible Might
No Darkness At All, Pure Holiness and Light
Inscrutable Wisdom; Sovereign, Perfect Will
Mind set upon Him, at peace; steady and still
Refuge in a world fallen, Haven for the weary
Immovable Rock, Protection from evil’s fury
Solid, Sure Foundation; Stable, Unshakeable
Divine, Absolute Authority; Unmistakeable

Hebrews 12:28-29 (NASB)
28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.
29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Deuteronomy 4:39 (NASB)
Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.

“Your Glory Alone”

“Your Glory Alone”

Life is about You, Jesus
You became sin for me
Made me righteous in You
You paid it all at Calvary

My mind You illumined
My heart softened as clay
You heard my cry within
You showed me the Way

What could I possibly say
What words could express
That could convey to You
My love and thankfulness

For the time that I remain
Until You bring me home
My life is a living sacrifice
Lived for Your glory alone

Galatians 2:20 (NASB)
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

II Corinthians 5:21 (NASB)
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

“Unbreakable Chain”

“Unbreakable Chain”

Like an unbreakable chain
Saints of God join to pray
Share their joy and pain
Grow stronger every day

By Divine Design woven
Into a beautiful tapestry
Each one He’s chosen
Crowned in His majesty

Servants of the King
Messengers of Light
Gospel Truth they bring
Holy, pure, and bright

Righteous Ruler reigns
All bow on bended knee
Kingdom forever remains
Now and for all eternity

I Peter 2:9 (NASB)
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

I Corinthians 12:12 (NASB)
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.

“For Those With Eyes To See”

“For Those With Eyes To See”

Whether it is days or weeks, months or years
Whenever the timing of the rapture might be
When the trumpet’s sound echoes in our ears
Then we will go to be with our Lord for eternity

The signs are obvious for those with eyes to see
This world is spiraling down, quickly descending
Toward a time of utter, unparalleled catastrophe
Still, many scoff at the warnings God is sending

This world will not get better; it is not evolving
Despite the falsehoods many want to believe
Truth is a Person; His Name is Jesus Christ
Only through Him can salvation be received

II Peter 3:3-6 (NASB)
3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,
4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”
5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,
6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
